occasionally offer Time For Prints/CD for suitable models. These may be for my portfolio, advertising, experimentation, or stock photography work. Payment will be in the form of photo and model releases will be required – parents or guardians will also be required to sign for any model under 18 year old. Models who would like to shoot with me please read through the text below. It should answer most, if not all, questions you may have regarding working with Natural Art Media. What Is TFP/TFCD? TFP or Trade For Prints is an agreement when the model trades her time with a photographer for prints she can use in her portfolio. These days most TF* model shoots are actually delivered to the model in TFCD. In a TF* shoot the model and the photographer come to an agreement to exchange their time and services to each other in a trade. No money is exchanged for a TF* session. While the model provides his or her time and skill as a model the photographer provides his or her skill as a photographer and photo re-toucher. Together photographer and model collaborate to create a specified set of images. I…

I’ve Seen Onions From Both Sides Now
0
And…… here’s the other side of the onions. I did spend some time dodging and burning this photo and selectively adding contrast and vibrance. The depth-of-field on this photo is so narrow I didn’t need to do much focus processing on it at all. Because of the angle and shooting at f2.8 there is barely anything in focus at all. …

While in Mazatlan we spent some time in the Mercado Municipal in old-town. The market covers one entire city block and is very interesting to visit and wander around in. I took lots of photos while at the market and the onions and radishes above are one of the produce shots I got. Don’t ask me why taking pictures of …

I wanted to share this image because I love the detail (at least there is a lot of detail in the original), and the techniques that were used by the people that built the hotel that evokes such feelings of ancient mystery. I haven’t found that hotels or resorts pay that much attention to detail or take the extra steps …

Is the jungle taking over? It looks like it, but I don’t think so… This is a follow-up to the previous post, “Distressed”. This was shot with my new Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8 lens at 14mm. Taken from the balcony of the hotel, this shows a different perspective of the rotundas on the back side of buildings. I like this view …

In February I spent some time in Mazatlan, Mexico (which is one reason why I haven’t posted anything recently). I wanted to try some HDR photography while there, but did not have access to a tripod. Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting some “Hand-Held HDR” or H3DR photos. I’ve been debating about which photos to post first, and …

I should have posted this a long time ago, but this was one of those “I got busy” items and then I lost track of it. Recently I got permission from Hannah’s mom to post this and thought I would do it now before it got lost in the virtual stacks of to-do lists. Kids can be a lot of …

This is the result of my first HDR attempt. By that I mean going out with my camera with the intent of taking a bracketed set of photos to produce an HDR image. As usual, I happy, and I’m not. I’m actually quite happy about the final outcome – yes I know, I can hear several of you who know …

Those of you who know me well, know that trains are one of my passions (along with photography, ruby, and my wife). I haven’t worked on my model railroad in almost three years – too many other things to do. I’m going to start the year by posting a few photos of the roundhouse in the Train Town Railroad. I …
Read MoreWhere Does Time Go?
I’m serious, think about it – Where does it go? If one consumes matter in pretty much any form it turns into energy. If one uses energy it generally results in ‘work’ (light, movement, heat, etc…) [E=mc2 and all…]. But where does time go? What does it do? I can feel it passing, I can see that time has come …
