Sunset in Mazatlan

Nikon D3x, Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8, 14mm, f/6.3, ISO 100, 7 exposures

I’m going to wrap up Mazatlan photos with this image of the sunset from the top of the Posada Freeman Express in old-town Mazatlan. The Freeman is a great place to grab some food or a drink and catch the sunset from the roof-top.  I’d like to say that I thought about this and planned it, ensuring the couple was at the right location on the beach when the sun was setting so that I could create this photo.  However, it just isn’t true.  My wife wanted to watch the sunset from the top and I had my camera with me and the couple on the beach just happened to be in right place between me and the sun.

Of course, if you don’t have a camera with you, you can’t take a photo.

I had not noticed the wave design painted on the walkway when we were there – it’s a nice detail that you captured. The whitecaps on the waves give a hint that it was windy that day – it was definitely chilly up there!
