Radishes In My Onions

Nikon D3x, Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8, 70mm, f/2.8, ISO 400, 1/200 sec

While in Mazatlan we spent some time in the Mercado Municipal in old-town. The market covers one entire city block and is very interesting to visit and wander around in. I took lots of photos while at the market and the onions and radishes above are one of the produce shots I got. Don’t ask me why taking pictures of produce in Mexico is more interesting than at home – it just is. I’ve never considered taking my camera to a local grocery store to photograph vegies, that is until just now. Maybe something to think about.

I shot this at f2.8 to get a shallow depth-of-field, however I did use OnOne’s FocalPoint 2 to push the radishes a little more out of focus during processing. FocalPoint 2 is an awesome product and I think really helped to eliminate some distracting elements of the radishes.  I wanted the them in the photo for the color, but I was focusing on the onions – radishes are *not* my favorite vegetable.
